The Braverman Company is an award-winning real estate development and advisory firm specializing in public-private re- development solutions. The firm has a proven track-record developing innovative smart growth projects from concept to completion.
Since its inception, The Braverman Company has served as a general partner responsible for managing the design, permitting, construction, and marketing of over 550 residential units and 195,000 square feet of commercial/retail space exceeding $165 million in total development cost.
The Braverman Company has successfully developed mixed-use communities that have included market-rate apartments, affordable housing, senior housing, university housing, ground floor retail, luxury condominiums, commercial office, and resort hotels. The firm has experience assembling and utilizing a wide variety of funding sources including private-equity, commercial debt, mez debt, LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, CDGB, HOME and TIF funding.

BACKGROUND
Founded in 2003, The Braverman Company is a real estate development and advisory firm focused leveraging real estate solutions to build stronger and healthier communities. The company’s projects have received national recognition for providing meaningful community change – while providing strong financial returns to partners and investors.
The Braverman Company is a partner in HKW, LLC the private development group responsible for advancing the award-winning Winooski Downtown Redevelopment. A $140+million project, Braverman oversaw Winooski Fall’s master planning, permitting, architectural design, while managing the project’s day to day construction and marketing initiatives.
Prior to creating The Braverman Company, Mr. Braverman served as the Vice President of Development for the Retrovest Companies (Burlington, VT) where he assembled several notable projects including South Village, a 253 unit traditional neighborhood development and agricultural community, and Westlake- a mixed use project in downtown Burlington, Vermont.
Throughout his career, Braverman has served as an executive with the Singh Company, where he has managed several award-winning projects including the redevelopment of the Truman Annex Naval Base, and most recently the acquisition and permitting of Oceans Edge Resort and Marina.
Mr. Braverman began his real estate career as a Senior Associate with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, DC and remains an active participant in ULI. Mr. Braverman was a contributing author of Developing Housing for the Workforce, published by ULI in 2008.
Mr. Braverman has earned a Masters Degree from Columbia University’s Real Estate Program as well as a Masters in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia School of Architecture. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Vermont.
